Ms. Reid's classroom info for the week of Aug. 31-Sept. 4

We will continue looking at how different words can fulfill different roles within simple sentences. The students will continue learning jingles this week. The jingles provide a fun and catchy way to remember the definitions of the parts of speech and give clues for determining how words are within a sentence.
We will continue to explore the basic elements of literature while also reading parodies of a few familiar fairy and folk tales. We will also use this time to learn a little more about the three different ways that we will dive into literature this year.
This quarter we will be focusing on narrative writing. The students will begin their first writing assignment this upcoming Friday. It will be due the following Thursday, September 10.
